Fishing

For fishing we have a pond stocked with Bass, Bream, and Catfish. There is also a public fishing lake a couple miles away (Horsehead Lake) that has great Crappie fishing. In addition, you can drive (only a short distance) to the Arkansas River. Of course an Arkansas Fishing license is required.

Horsehead Lake Information

This spectacular 98-acre mountain lake, located minutes away, has a myriad of recreational opportunities available. With a 3 mile hiking loop, boating, a boat ramp (10 hp motor limit for boats), 8 picnic sites, fishing, a beach for the kids and an excellent swimming area. And the conveniences of a bathhouse and showers. (Open Apr.-mid Sept.)

Centrally located flush toilets, and drinking water is close at hand. There is a daily user's fee charged and no special facilities are available for camp trailers or RV's.

For the day use picnicker there are 12 family areas (one for the handicapped) with a handicapped toilet, bathhouse with cold showers and a playground and a swimming beach. There is no life guard on duty.
